Primary School Blitz
Excitement is building here in the school ahead of this Friday 22nd September when we will welcome pupils from local primary schools to take part in a mixed Gaelic football blitz. The blitz has been organised by our TY students along with the help of their teachers as part of the Future Leaders programme. We look forward to an excellent event and hope that all of our visitors enjoy the day.

Information Evening
Thank you to all parents of first year students who attended our information evening in the school last Wednesday evening. Well done to first year students Megan Teague and Sarah Teague who spoke to parents on the night about how they’ve used their ipads since starting in Mercy Ballymahon.
Student Council
Well done to all students who have nominated themselves to take part in this year’s Student Council elections. Student Voice is a fundamental part of school life here in Mercy Ballymahon and we commend everyone who has put themselves forward or proposed someone who they feel would represent their class well. Best of luck to all nominees in the upcoming elections.
TY Activities
Our four TY classes have had a busy start to the year. On Thursday 7th September they attended a talk in the Longford Arms Hotel with Dr. Harry Barry who is a leading voice in the discussion of mental-health, depression and phobias. Last week, they participated in a team-building day at Lilliput Adventure Centre and this week they have attended the National Ploughing Championships. Meanwhile, in school, students have been leading lunchtime activities for younger year groups. Well done to all involved.
